Compatible audio OS

Mamboberry HiFi/LS/HD dac’s are compatible with all the major audio OS in the market.

A few examples:

Volumio 2 (already in dac list)

Moode (already in the dac list)

Runeaudio (you must remove “#” from device_tree_overlay=hifiberry-dac line in config.txt)

Does Mamboberry HD DAC have a Guarantee ?

Mamboberry HD DAC+ and all Collybia products have a two years guarantee.

How can i power up Mamboberry HD DAC+ ?

There are three ways to supply power to Mamboberry HD DAC+ :

  1. Connect your 5V 2.5A DC power supply to Mamboberry HD DAC+(2.1mm x 5.5mm DC jack-barrel onboard) and it will feed with power the Raspberry Pi board, also.
  2. Connect your 5V 2.5A DC power supply to Raspberry Pi. HD DAC+ will power up also. Do not remove the jumper.
  3. Connect one 5V 2.5A DC power supply to Raspberry Pi and one 5V 2.5A DC power supply to HD DAC+. ATTENTION! Remove the jumper before power up the devices.

DO NOT PUT PSU HIGHER THAN 5V DC. WILL BURN HD DAC+

Thank you.

Mamboberry HD DAC+ is a slave or a master DAC ?

Mamboberry HD DAC+(and all Mamboberry DAC’s) is a “slave” dac.

Let us explain some things(as simplest as we can):

The Pi is sending BCLK and LRCK to Sabre DAC chip(HiFi/LS/HD) DAC+ as well as DATA. HD DAC+ will receive(input) the i2s signal from RPi, then re-clocking it with its own local oscillator(clock) and on-chip ASRC(SABRE dac chip) and give it clean to our sound system.

SABRE dac chips(9023p in our case) have a low noise technology in the the dac chip called, Time Domain Jitter Eliminator“.

So in our DAC’s we provide high quality electronic parts from very respected audio Brands like, Nichicon, SABRE, IDT, Crystek, WIMA, etc… and we achieve to eliminate the jitter from the audio signal(sabre dac chip and a low noise or Ultra lown noise oscillators) and with a sophisticated design in board and specially in power rail we eliminate the jitter on the power rail, too.

We believe in SABRE in combination with a low noise oscillator and special design.

Take under consideration that with SABRE and Crystek(Ultra low-noise) as an oscillator, you do not need any reclocker. And that is a fact!

What is the model of the DAC Chip on Mamboberry HD DAC ?

Mamboberry HD DAC+, have the Sabre 9023p Dac Chip.

Take a look at specs:

  • 192kHz/24bit
  • Capable of 384kHz DxD
  • Low noise technology through “low jitter eliminator” in the dac chip.
